Overview

Biokine Therapeutics Ltd. is an R&D biotechnology company founded in 2000. The company develops novel therapeutics for cancer and inflammation. The company focuses its effort on targeting the chemokine/chemokine receptor system. These molecules play a key role in the development of cancer and inflammatory diseases. The company has developed a suite of unique approaches to target the chemokine and chemokine receptor system and is conducting preclinical and clinical research on several molecules discovered in-house.

The chemokine receptor CXCR4 and the chemokines RANTES and MCP-1 are critically involved in the development and progression of cancer as well as in regulation of inflammatory diseases.

Biokine is focusing its effort on the development of novel CXCR4 dependent therapeutics and on the development of promiscuous RANTES and MCP-1 chemokine antagonists as therapeutics for cancer and inflammation.

Biokine was established with seed funding provided by the Weizmann Institute incubator program and since than has successfully closed three subsequent rounds of financing from lead biotechnology investors and is also supported by two European FP6 programs.
